The City of Anderson, CA
The City of Anderson, through its Redevelopment Agency, is excited to be a part of the revitalization of our downtown area. Most significantly, the City of Anderson and Shasta County Public Health teamed together to construct the new Public Health/Teen Center building on the corner of Howard and East Center Streets. This facility offers a public plaza, teen recreational facilities, and public health services. In addition, the Redevelopment Agency has completed street, landscaping, parking and lighting improvements to make our downtown more attractive, safe, and fun to visit. As a result of these efforts, business owners and investors are looking anew at downtown, and a new commercial development is underway on the corner of East Center and South Streets.
The City, and its Redevelopment Agency, are partnering with the Chamber of Commerce to continue these efforts to make our downtown the best it can be. Chamber representatives can assist downtown business owners with referrals for business assistance and strategies for using their downtown location as a marketing advantage. Business owners in the downtown area who are interested in improving their storefronts should contact the City at 378-6676 to talk about our popular Façade Improvement Program. This program can provide funds for paint, awnings, signage, lighting, and other similar improvements to the exterior of the building. Additionally, investors and business owners with an interest in locating downtown can contact the Chamber of Commerce (at 365-8095) and Redevelopment Agency executive director (at 378-6670) for more information about how the Chamber and the Redevelopment Agency can assist.
